NAVI are the winners of StarLadder CIS RMR 2021
StarLadder CIS RMR 2021 is over. Two teams: Gambit Esports and NAVI, had the attention of discipline fans. Gambit Esports had been lucky since their victory at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2021, where they defeated Virtus.pro in the finals. Sh1ro became MVP of the tournament back then. In addition, the Gambit Esports sniper made it to Forbes' annual «30 under 30» list in the Sports and esports category.
BLAST Premier Spring Final 2021 and IEM Summer 2021 followed. Team rifler Abay «Hobbit» Hasenov became MVP twice in 2021, thus catching up with his teammate Sergei «Ax1Le» Rykhtorov, as well as NAVI sniper Alexander «s1mple» Kostyliev.
But at the final match, Gambit Esports surrendered their position and took their first loss in a month, giving away the win at StarLadder CIS RMR 2021 to Navi.
This was the third fight between the two top teams at CIS RMR. Prior to that, Gambit came out victorious in both the group stage and the finals, once again confirming their status as the best CS:GO team in the HLTV rankings.
In the Grand Final, Gambit Esports gave a strong bid for victory — taking Ancient 16-7. But that was the end of their lucky streak. Navi took one card after another:
- Dust 2 at 16-9;
- Mirage, 16 to 11;
- Inferno, 16-13.
Navi's victory at StarLadder CIS RMR was not an easy one, but it ended up breaking (temporarily?) Gambit Esports' winning streak.
«Born to Win» took home $40 000 and 2000 RMR points. Gambit took home $15 000 and 1875 RMR points.
Let's not forget that Gambit Esports earned over a million dollars in prize money in 2021
The IEM Cologne 2021 tournament kicks off tomorrow in Cologne, where 24 teams will draw $1 million and ESL Pro Tour and BLAST Premier ranking points from July 6-18. Among the participating teams are Gambit and Navi, which means the confrontation continues.
