The global mobile gaming market generated $7.7 billion in August
August 2021 for the world mobile game market proved to be very profitable — $7.7 billion was earned by the industry from the expenses of players in the App Store and Google Play.
The profits of the global mobile game market in 2021 are 8.6% higher than in 2020.
The US in global revenue became the TOP-1 — about $2.1 billion, or 28% of total player spending. In second place Japan - 20,8%, in third place — China (where Google Play is not available) — 17,5%.
In August 2021, Fate / Grand Order had its best month in two years, with revenues of $ 133.8 million, up 13.6% from August 2020. The spike in player spending coincided with the game's sixth anniversary celebrations. To date, the income from the «toy» for the entire period of its existence amounted to about $5.5 billion.
The highest-grossing mobile game in the world in August 2021 was Tencent's PUBG Mobile.
Gamers spent about $270 million on PUBG Mobile, which is 4.7% more than in August 2020.
About 61.4% of PUBG Mobile's revenue came from China, where the game was localized as Game For Peace, 9% from the US and 6.5% from Turkey.
